A
man has been arrested for the dumping of hundreds of unwanted
tyres in the Welsh valleys, admitting to the offence at Neath
Police Station. The
arrest came in a joint operation between Environment Agency Wales
and South Wales Police, in which the vehicle used in the flytipping
incident was seized after the surveillance of a flytipping hotspot
near Treorchy.
More
than 50 volunteers from the Agency, the Welsh Assembly government,
Rhondda Cynon Taf and McDonalds spent Monday clearing up around
1,000 dumped tyres at the location.
