Hingras of Iceland is a leading environmental waste recycling company. They Operate a tyre shredding plant in the capital Reykjavik and a further shredding operation in the east of the Island.

Bryan Packman the National Commercial Sales Manager was contacted to ascertain if Credential had the capacity and capability of processing tyres which already had been put through a primary shredder in Iceland. The tyres that had been shredded were primarily passenger car tyres with some truck and earthmover tyres.

A brief visit to Iceland was required to assess the quality of the shed for processing through the Tyrannosaurus machine at Wednesbury. The shred will be shipped from Iceland to Hull docks under Waste Shipment Regulations which where implemented on the 12th July 2007 .

The resultant 3000 tonnes are scheduled to be delivered to Wednesbury by Mid September before moving the processed shred to Tyregenic plant where it will be turned into rubber crumb and be destined eventually to be used in one of many purposes for example: artificial playing fields.

It is anticipated that more tonnage will be shipped across from Hingras on a routine.
