Company History

Wednesbury 026July 2013  – CEL further consolidates its position as leading TDF supplier to the UK cement industry, commencing a 2 year contract to supply Hope Construction Materials Ltd. Later in the year, CEL renews its contract with Cemex until 2016.

October 2012 – Credential Environmental extended it’s operations by taking over the assets and business of Saltire Recovery Ltd.

March 2010 – Credential Automotive – the specialist automotive waste collection business – was sold to Avanti.

June 2007 – CE Hazardous – the specialists hazardous waste collection business – was sold to Augean Plc.

October 2006 – Tyregenics, a JV between CEL, BOC and Fieldturf Inc, opened a new cryogenic tyre processing plant to produce high quality rubber crumb for the artificial sports field market.

Feb 2006 – Credential Environmental acquires UK’s third largest tyre collection contractor, Wednesbury based TCS.

Jun 2005 – Assets and goodwill of Worcester based Betta Special Waste and Betta Environmental acquired by Credential Environmental (CEL) from the Betta plc group.

Mar 2005 – Majority shareholding in the Credential Environmental Ltd acquired by Ailsa3 Ventures Ltd

Dec 2003 – Credential Environmental acquired the Waste Solutions  Group to substantially increase tyre collection capability, which enabled Credential Environmental to provide a national service, and garage waste collection services.

Jan 2002 – The Waste Solution Group was formed as the parent company for the two highly successful existing businesses, Waste Tyre Solutions (WTS) and Automotive Waste Solutions (AWS).

Nov 2001 – Credential Environmental purchased Midco Waste Management Ltd which provided the company with additional waste tyre processing capability and the hazardous waste transfer station based in Hinckley.

Sep 2001 – Incorporation of Credential Environmental Ltd

Aug 2000 – The business was started by Credential Holdings Ltd, a Glasgow based property company with the acquisition of a tyre granulation plant in Sheffield.
